Convert my old NetApp descriptors to new OSM syntax

Hey, hello everyone and thanks in advance.

I have some descriptors of my NetApp created a few months ago, for the OSM 8 version. When upgrading OSM, I’ve noticed that my descriptors are no longer valid, I think because of the new “syntax” that OSM is using. My new version of OSM is 10, but I think with 9 it happens too.

Is there a way to update them for compatibility, or do I have to redo them again?

Thanks!

Igor

Hi Igor,

Yes, there is a very easy way to transform descriptors. To put a bit of context, OSM changed the syntax of its descriptors in the change from version 8 to the following (until now: 9, 10 and 11). They went from using SOL005 to SOL006.

Fortunately, they created a small document that serves as a tutorial to transform the old descriptors. You can find it at the following link:

SOL006 Descriptor Translation

The whole document is helpful, but the part you’re looking for is from slide number 20.

There is also a previously opened thread in the forum where they talk about a question similar to this, it will surely help you:

Similar Thread.

I hope this helps you.
