OSM's deployment models

Hello,

I have a question regarding OSM:

How does OSM support different deployment models such as on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud? How does it manages the resources and the allocation of the resources across various domains and use cases?

Thanks in advance for the response!

Hi,

The main way in which OSM can control deployment zones is through affinity groups, by associating from specific projects all the way down to specific Virtual Deployment Units (VDUs) to specific hardware. Multi-site/distributed deployment is automatically considered by OSM, depending on the Virtual Infrastructure Manager (VIM) that the Network Service (NS) is attached to on deployment. Otherwise, the distribution and/or placement and/or maintenance of such placements/deployments could be dynamically modified depending on the Day-1/-2 configuration, if the possibility of Network Intent and Slicing is also considered. The management of different management domains and/or use cases has not been considered yet, at least not in an intelligent manner, however it is possible.

Thank you for your question!

Kind regards,
